As more and more people look online to get their beauty fix it has become ever so important to find a way to choose a foundation that will match your skintone. You often see online people asking 'I'm an nc40/42' from MAC what would I be in *insert brand*?
Most people look for key words such as 'warm', 'natural', 'golden, 'beige'. However, I have found 2 nifty websites that allow you to input the shade of your current foundation (which you know matches) and then it'll come up with the corresponding shades in other brands.
The most well known of these two is probably the Temptalia foundation matrix which first asks your undertone and then categorises skintones. I have found this to be fairly accurate in the past but even if it is not bang on it gives you an indication so if you happen to visit the high street you can quickly try the shade just below and above too.
The second website I have recently discovered that has only launched in 2012 is Findation.com. The more matches you give it the more accurate the results will be (it's not rocket science). As it is new, it is possibly not as accurate as the Foundation Matrix just yet but the more people that submit their results the better it will become. The website describes it as 'a global project launched in 2012, creating the world’s largest usable database of matching foundation colours'.
Anyway today was a quick post just sharing my findings, but I'm guessing lots of you knew about these sites anyway.
Till next time...Toodles! :)
